BATTERY REMOVAL CAUSING MAJOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS?

I've never had a problem, Just remove the Negative lead first and put this back on last. Also, make sure the keys are in your pocket and there are no loads on the battery when you do it.

    Crazy phantom battery drain ?

Normally referred to as a blade fuse or mini blade fuse. I think you may be over ****ysing the battery fault. I've never heard of anyone checking the drop in volts over a period of time. The battery is made up of 6, 2 volt cells. If the battery is faulty usually you'd drop one or two of these...

    Crazy phantom battery drain ?

ok, sorry I was scan reading the post. If it is spiking at 0.04 amps then I'd be happy with that. Do you keep your car on the road or driveway? If it is on a driveway I would just invest in a battery conditioner and keep that connected if you know the car will not be used for a few days. This...

    Crazy phantom battery drain ?

You will find that this will help a lot if you get to the testing fuses stage. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=251312009110 Also, don't forget that the multimeter will have a 10amp fuse in it so don't exceed this or you'll be out of action until you can find a...

    Crazy phantom battery drain ?

How are you testing the current draw? Are you disconnecting the battery and bridging the leads with your multimeter? If you are using an amp clamp they can be very handy however not always very accurate with such low current draw. Personally I think spiking regularly at 0.4 amps is way too...

    Cycle rack on tourer

I don't use a boot mounted one due to the top lip on the boot is the plastic spoiler so it's not a secure fit. I don't have roof rails so I'm stuck there too. Usually I just through my mth straight in the boot with the seats down.

    Boot strut replacements

Hard to tell as there's no photo to see but it looks right. Just remember that you have 2 struts and that is for one. I replaced mine a while ago, the ones I had were handed. Not sure why but it's just worth noting that the Honda ones and my aftermarket ones were handed. When you do the job be...

    Totally transformed by xenons!

Correct, if your car doesn't have them, they don't need to be there or be tested. As for "It's the spare tyre thing. You don't need one, but if you have one, it must have sufficient tread etc..." This is just a myth too as the spare tyre isn't a failure point for the test.

2.4 type s tourer boot lid

My boot lid is the same, powers down but not up. As far as I'm aware there is a clutch mech on the tailgate motor and this slips due to grease contamination. Mine has been like this since I bought the car 4 years ago so I just lift if manually. Still powers down due to not having to lift the...

    Brake Caliper Paint

Just remember that your brakes do get hot so the paint needs to be resistant to high temperatures.

    head light bulbs

As I mentioned today in a different but similar thread, HID headlight conversions are NOT an MOT fail... For MOT rules with regards to HID kits, it is actually not possible to fail a car for a HID upgrade as it states that both self levelling system must be working and headlamp wash must be...

    Totally transformed by xenons!

I agree completely. This is taken from the MOT manual for anyone who may have issues with MOT fail and HID kits. Section 1.7 - Headlamps. 2 Where HID or LED dipped beam headlamps are fitted, switch on the headlamps and check the operation of any headlamp levelling and cleaning devices fitted...

    Totally transformed by xenons!

dragging this up from the past but just wanted to add a couple of points. I've been an MOT tester for 7 years and seen a lot of beam patterns in my time. My 7th Gen with HID's is one of the best beam pattern I've seen and is a lot better than most standard lamps. As for MOT rules with regards...

    Oil Pressure Light Before Ignition

The oil pressure light will come on with ignition until you start the engine because you have no oil pressure until the engine is running.
