Not advertising services, just showing initial costs etc for setting up to carry out A/C servicing. 'F' gas certs we have are lifetime.
'Humberside' any TA members are most welcome anytime.
BTW just sold my beloved 6th Gen last night. Had it for 5yrs and loved it to bits, just no longer need 2...
I run my own garage and we have just started A/C servicing, our F gas traing was £400 each (3 of us) ,we have bought a top spec machine which was £3200 with all the kit and there is a bit more to it than just connect 2 pipes and leave the machine to do the work.Yes fully auto machines can...
Solved mine using Wynn's PTFE spray lubricant (use it in work) also safe for 'O' rings and seals. 10 months on and not a squeak. Need to get right into the cylinder(clutch down) using extended nozzle tube.
6 Months since I lubricated my M/cyl and still perfect, not a creak etc in sight. Just a matter of using the right stuff (Wynn's clear lube, maybe trade only).
Doubt if it will make any difference to power and one of the great things about this engine is it's smoothness especially at high revs, any extra bhp will easily be absorbed through internal vibrations.
Just changed my front tyres, had Cooper Zeon 225/45/17's on down to about 3mm but suffered badly from tramlining and steering following lines and ruts etc. After a few weeks of trying to decide which make+tread pattern to go for I plummed for Pirelli P6000's (I own a garage so can get at trade)...
Just been out on a run today and compared my speedo to GPS and overall from 30-80 mph speedo was reading 4-5 mph fast. Running 225/45/17's, Cooper Zeon's(were on the car when bought) which are down to about 3mm and does suffer with tramlining quite a bit. Obviously as tyres wear down RR is...
Just done this using Wynns Clear Lube,PTFE based and safe for 'O' rings. Worked a treat so will now see how long it lasts before needing to re grease.
The info on this forum is Brill! Well done Alnug and Co.
Just completed a 390 mile round trip from Rhyl to Cardiff and back, mainly good A roads(single and dual carriage) and a little bit of M/way(M4). Overall averaged 38-40 mpg and car ran like dream,so very pleased.
Using mainly FS at moment
Always used VPP in my 1.8 i s and could tell the difference in performance and smoothness compared to FS.
Just put £20 @ 1.14 p/l of Fuelsave in my new 2.0 ('03) so will see how it get's on and will then try VPP and see what the difference is and report back.
