Going to see a 7th gen diesel tourer today, the owner thinks it has had the exhaust manifold replaced under warranty but does not have any evidence, is there a way to tell by looking at it whether it has been replaced? Thanks

I see... Torn between flogging it now before issues arise, or carry on running it and start looking for a replacement engine / camshaft. Glad I decided to do the valve clearances either way, wouldn't have known otherwise! Is there any way to see if the valve will need replacing too? Thanks...

Really? So how does the rear silencer connect to the rest of the exhaust, looks like its all one-piece to the cat in that diagram, and from looking under my car. Managed to find one at a local breakers for £60, so fingers crossed its in decent nick...

Hi all, I have a '04 Tourer exec with premium sound system (non sat-nav) and want to connect a sony mp3 player. What is the cheapest/easiest way to go about doing this? Happy to control via the mp3 player itself rather than steering wheel/head unit controls if needs be. Thanks Rob

Ah that's good to know then, thanks very much for the advice. How much should I expect to pay for a 03/04 plate 2.0 executive auto? The ones i'm going to look have done 80k-100k and have FSH and 12m MOT. Parkers says £2.4k for a private sale in good condition at that mileage... Cheers
