Hi,I had a similar problem after asking a well known garage to replace my gearbox oil. (I was feeling lazy).
To cut an extremely long story short the mechanic had removed the sensor for some reason but didn't realise that the was spacer That prevents the sensor from protruding into the gearbox...
Thanks for the feedback edgeoftime and Bounder,I'd done it by the time I'd read your posts.
I had read and re read the diy guides so it was a breeze in the end.
Taking the Idler pulley off made putting the new shorter belt on a bit easier.
I used the Gates one.
My car sounds a lot quieter now...
Just a quick question.
Does the idler pulley have to come off as looking at the routing of the new belt it doesn't seem to get in the way and it doesn't look like it makes the routing of the new belt any easier with it gone.
Maybe I'm missing something.
Cheers.
Bri.
Nice one, I've just had mine done with parts and labour covered.
It's a bit better on the fuel but the real bonus is not having recirculation all the time.

Yes I can understand that,I think the fact that hh weren't corresponding with me, i.e. Replying to emails not ringing back didn't help.
Customer relations must always be foremost.
We'll meet soon to give my bad boy a retune mate.

A quick net search has revealed that it's normal but I'm not too convinced.
I was thinking of a loose or compressed or broken engine mount but the wheels...
Hi,I've been following this thread on the Aux belt and I'm wondering if the fact that my wipers slow down under load on flat or uphill slow down because of the problems caused by the long Aux belt?
I have done a bit of a search but couldn't find anything related to it.
Or is it a dopey question...
Well after being very patient but after making quite a few phone calls to HUK I have at last been told that HUK will be paying in whole for my manifold to be replaced which has made Bri a very happy bunny.
Hi Grayedout, I've just been given a quote of £374 for the work off Holdcroft Honda. This includes two wiper blades though. I have spoken to head office prior to the inspection and quote.
They said that they would dosh to the garage and ring me back in a couple of days so either my quote is...
