Sorry if I am reviving an old post, but when I bought my Accord (same as above) in March 2014, I bought a spare wheel and tyre (same as on the car), and it fits okay in the well. Be aware that it is deeper than the well, as the OP pointed out, but only by about 1.5". I made a wooden platform...
