Think my alternator has packed in all of a sudden. It doesnt seem to be charging the battery. Are these easy to change.

what all would i need to make the change would i need drive shafts and all that

my cooling fan doesnt seem to be working have tried the bypassing by jumping the connector on the thermostat housing and both fans work car doesn't seem to be over heating should i be worried.
