This has been sorted and was sorted months ago, I got a replacement manifold off eBay for £160, had that fitted, major serice, new brakes all round etc and this is where the £700ish total bill came from I mentioned earlier, no need for further info in this thread anymore cheers

nahh mate, £3000 is for car purchase (£2400) and all servicing, manifold and brakes replacement (prob about £600) all in, I'd have freaked out if I was being charged £3000 for a service and manifold haha

from what I've read (and my car does the same under hard acceleration), it'll most likely be the drive shafts, they sound fussy on these cars from what I've read *high fiiive*

how about getting a power line to the boot for the amp?

I just have to say, the Power for 2 sec's is what I needed, all options turned off other than rds info and now it's not flicking channels every 15 minutes for news alerts etc, great stuff cheers guys :D

How you you get the power to it, I have a sub box with built on amp ready to go in the boot and understand I'd have to splice the speaker wires, but was wondering about how to get power to the amp in the boot? Also, what about the "remote" wire, which effectively turns the amp/sub on/off...
