Not sure per tank, as I usually put 10 gals (45.5 litres) in mine each fill-up as a check on real mpg vs that suggested by the OBC. I've done about 12000 miles since I bought the car last July and the dash says 34.4 mpg average. My calculations give me roughly the same result - ie 340-350 miles...

Just to ad to my post above - the lights are now extinguished. Hooked up to a different diagnostic computed it was apparent that a sensor needed calibrating. With this done all seems well.

Just found this old thread and thought I'd ad details of my current woes. Had the VSA/ABS light issue a while ago, which was diagnosed as a faulty ABS sensor. Sensor replaced and ABS light extinguished. However, I then have the orange /!\ triangle constantly on and the VSA warning 'bings' on...

Interesting, as the light was not on before it went in for the brakes work.

That sounds like something I don't really want to venture into myself, having a phobia of vehicle electronics. Looks like more expense then! For previous poster - battery is less than a year old.

My 2.4 has just come back from (non main dealer garage) having a binding rear brake and failed ABS sensor sorted, but something else has cropped up. The guy at the garage showed me a screenshot from the diagnostics which gave code B1177 'abnormal battery voltage'. A yellow triangle light is now...

Upshot of this VSA/ABS warning was a knackered NSR ABS sensor. This was coincidental to the seized OSR calliper wearing the inboard pad down to the metal. So, new ABS sensor, new calliper, new pads = ABS light out. Hurrah! Now I have another light on the dash though - see separate post.

My 2.4 manual is showing 34.8 mpg over the 10,000 miles I've covered since buying it. My own calculations show this to be not far off. This is mixed driving - M'way + rural A & B roads. Some urban crawl, but a fairly small percentage. It's better than I imagined it would be.

Mine does this. I thought is was something moving about in the boot, but now suspect the ARB bushes.

Had a bit of a poke around today. It would seem that the inner pad has worn right down and there is metal to metal contact. The pads were barely able to move in the sliders, so I guess it was binding and not releasing properly. I cleaned up some of the corrosion on the sliders so that the pads...

Day off tomorrow. If it's dry I'm going to have a poke around and see if I can see anything obvious. Is it easy enough to remove the caliper and disc? Is there a step-by-strp guide anywhere? I'm fairly comfident with a spanner and have done brakes on other cars before, but haven't tinkered with...
