    Clay bars

You gently rub them over the paintwork using a lubricator such as a quick detailing spray. Some clay bars only require water as a lube. My personal preference is for Bilt Hamber clay bar with water as a lube.

    Clay bars

Clay mitts are the next step in the evolution of clay bars. One of the pros being that you won't drop it on the floor then have to throw it away! Clay bars/mitts remove ingrained dirt, after you wash your car, run your hand over any body panel and it'll feel rough. Clay will remove that.

    Good tyres

Dohcvtec- just to clarify, the contis were brilliant in all weathers. In the rain the performance did drop off once they were around 4mm but i do drive the car pretty hard.In the dry they were absolutely fine.

    Good tyres

I've just had Uniroyal Rainsport3's fitted. They are brilliant. Got a good deal from Tyre Traders, even Camskills couldn't match them. I had Conti sport contact 5's previously but performance had dropped badly once they'd got to around 4mm.

    My beloved Accord was hit.

So Admiral have rang me back. They have authorised the Honda approved body shop to sort the car so great success! I'll stick some before and after pics up when I get a chance. Thanks for all the advice guys. Hopefully the car will be restored to its former glory and give me a few more years of...

    My beloved Accord was hit.

Admiral haven't got back to me yet. I've taken it to their approved garage which didn't fill me with confidence at all. The ***essor was patronising and downright rude. I then took it to my local bodyshop which is Honda approved. Their quote would deem the car a write off. Admiral obviously want...

    My beloved Accord was hit.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have thought about buying the car back and getting it repaired depending on how much Admiral ask for it. Mrs was pretty shook up, the women could easily have hit my mrs which doesn't bear thinking about.

    My beloved Accord was hit.

Just thought I'd share how my Accord i-ctdi exec has met its end. The car was parked, my mrs had the rear door open and was putting my youngest in her car seat. Some women in a Zafira somehow didn't see the open door and drove into it. My door went over its hinges damaging the front door. Rear...

Window scratches - lots of them!

There are kits you can buy now of polishing compounds for glass. A friend used one called Ceri-Glass and it seemed to do a decent job on his windscreen. It needs to be used with a dual action polisher or similar.

Mot failure: front suspension bushes. DIY or not

Glad you posted this. I've had a similar thing today. It was only an advisory but nearside lower suspension bush is on its way. Did you change both arms or just the one?

    FRONT PAD REPLACEMENT

Interested to know how long the pads have lasted? My Pagid fronts have done 27k and are almost due for replacement.

    Clay bars

You can use plain tap water with Bilt Hamber clay bars.

    Sat nav issue

Cheers for the reply. It's definately not doing it automatically. I have read up on several threads about lens failure. I might just bite the bullet and remove the drive and have the lens repaired. It's definately going to be in the new year though. Sam.
