so i've heard.. don't have one :(
WD40 is the best i have at the min so im giving that a go..
it destroys most things it comes in contact with so it wouldn't surprise me! :o
There is def oil in there.. it was only serviced about a month before all of this..
did the noise start suddenly - it started quietly and got louder over the space of 2 days (with a week gap)
how long had you been driving that day when it happened - driven about 6 miles with the 'quiet noise'...
what would HH be able to do anyway.. not much now i doubt.
when i said engine code i meant the model of engine not a fault code. i have had no lights appear on the dash..
Yes indeed.. today is a sad day :(
To be fair i dont think there was much chance if any.. i agree its not something i was happy doing but i had revved it a few times before and all was fine, it just happened to be this time that the engine wanted to give up. i had convinced myself it couldn't...
well the update is here!!! i have a video of my findings and all im saying is that the noise has now gone! in fact its not making any noises any more! :(
I started..... i revved... it died :(
needless to say... its not the exhaust manifold.
Vid can be found HERE
cool, thanks guys for all your help.. its too late now for me to start up the tank on my drive and get the hosepipe out! i'm gonna try and get back from work early tomorrow and play hunt the noise! :)
I will also get a vid of the noise on idle and revs
again i havent dared rev it that high to find out... is there anywhere local to northampton that has an accord specialist that could possibly come and have a look?
if it was big end issues and i did happen to rev it to find out is it likely to do more damage?
the injectors have been check already.. and sent off to be tested (well the one we thought the seal had gone on (this has happened to me before) the noise does get alot worse under revs!
