    155k Full Engine Service

I didn't even enquire about an after market filter as the kit I got from HH was very reasonably priced, but as people have said no point in trying to save a few quid only to find you have to do it again in six months. Since the service we have been down to Devon again, 600 mile round trip, mpg...

    155k Full Engine Service

Probably about 18k a year, but I change the oil and filter twice a year. Wifes family live in Devon so that puts the miles on but it loves the motorway.

    155k Full Engine Service

That time of year again for a service, gave Holdcraft a call and the following day all the service items arrived, excellent service and great price. Found servicing the Accord a pleasure compared to some of my previous cars, the fuel filter has a hard to get to bolt but nothing major. Engine...

    diagnose cracked manifold

If you’re not getting fumes in the cabin or under the bonnet on a cold start then hopefully it's not cracked, might just be a slight blow from the flexi joint when accelerating hard as it's a spring loaded joint. Mine was cracked on the ends and the top of the manifold but left no soot on the...

Look what I found under my heat sheild!

Welding the cracks up worked out well for me, put 20k on it since and all ok still, I took a few pics when I did mine in the thread below. http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/2890-cracked-manifold-rewelded/

    Exhaust fumes/smell in cabin I-CTDI

I'm afraid putting a bolt in the heat shield cover hole wont seal up the manifold as the shield sits on supports you can see them in this photo, might be worth checking the manifold nuts are all tight.

    Cracked Manifold rewelded

If the manifold was already off then I would do it but don't really have time to do the whole job. Busy restoring an 88 Astra GTE :)

    Cracked Manifold rewelded

Not been on here for a while so thought I would update this, car has done about 3k since rewelding the manifold as has been fine since, mpg has improved also.

    Cleaning EGR Valve

Thought that first sensor you arrowed was the map sensor? Should give you a few more mpg after cleaning out all that.

Mot failed compliance bush on lower front wishbone collapsed.

Haven't taken any pics as it's a bit Heath Robinson, but it's basically an old bottle jack and some scaffold tube welded into a box, does the job

Mot failed compliance bush on lower front wishbone collapsed.

I think Bobby's suggestion of putting the bush in the freezer helped as the 'home made' press had no problem pushing the new bush in, the car felt ok before but did notice some torque steer when giving it some, but now's it's perfect just feels planted. So if anyone else notices their car trying...

Mot failed compliance bush on lower front wishbone collapsed.

Well it's all done, bit of a pain due to a rusty bolt that hold the compliance bush in but other than that pretty straight forward. You can see the problem with the bush in this pic, the arm is resting on the subframe. :o So car jacked up and on an axel stand, I gave all the bolts a...
