It could be that fully extended under pressure the system seals OK, but in a retracted state the seal is sitting on a corroded / pitted area of the piston and letting in some air. The way to test that would be to remove the dust seal and and insert a spacer to limit piston travel. Then...

BTW MS only removed the ability to open IE directly. You can restore that function so you don't have to go through Edge. But whatever works, works. Instructions here.

I usually use the air conditioning to clear windows. But the moldings in my 06 Accord don't squeegee the windows. My 90's accord didn't either. When the air conditioning in that car broke, I carried a microfiber cloth in the door basket to wipe the windows.

Remanufacturing a DMF does not seem to be a thing even though the rubbers and springs don't look impossible to replace. Sure, contact surfaces might need to be honed, but with so many cars having DMFs, it is something I thought would have sprung up as a service.
