Sounds like it could be a wheel balance problem, or a tyre problem. Those are the two things I'd check first. Like you say, swapping the wheels front to back may show up the problem better.

That's very low mileage for a diesel, I'd be looking into that, doesn't sound right to me. Having said that, we are still loosing MPG and getting lower, since our manifold change, don't know what difference that would make but that's all I can put it down to.
