    2.4 MPG

We have a late 2008 2.4 Ex auto in the same colour as yours. It only does about 8K a year so on ~60K. Most of the trips are my wifes ~5mile each way commute and general running the family+dogs around. We bought it a year old and it's been great, no problems at all and apart from routine...

New sat nav disc or just update disc?

I'd agree. Not sure how you can update a satnav from a disc although a lot of these places seem to be selling these discs for around the £25 mark

New sat nav disc or just update disc?

Hi I'm thinking of updating the sat nav on our 2008 Tourer. However I'm a little confused as to whether I need to buy a full sat nav disc or the v3.90 update disc. There seems to be a huge variability in the price eg £150 vs £25? Thanks

Are there any good points to a 2.2 Auto?

We have a 2.4 petrol auto. Its a good gearbox with smooth and quick changes, although not quite as good as the best German gearboxes these days. Overall it's been super reliable. Diesels and auto gearboxes are a good combo. I do quite a lot of motorway miles in our other car (Merc diesel auto)...

    Another Rusty Sunroof

08 - so probably wasting my time, but I'll still ask anyway.

    Another Rusty Sunroof

Well checked today and I have a rusty sunroof. Moderately rusty but still rusty. Time to go to talk to the dealer.

    8th Gen 'Auto-lights' function?

Yes the lights take a noticeably longer time to come on than in our Mercedes.

    Another Rusty Sunroof

Looking at this picture. I'm not exactly sure where this seal is? I can't see any rust at the moment.

8th gen almost gets totalled by biker!

that's a ridiculously poor piece of riding by the bike. All over the white lines and terrible taking of the last corner.

8th gen as reliable as 6th?

Our 2008 Accord is now over 5 years old and has no had a single issue apart from when the Mrs let the battery drain and trashed the battery. Would I buy an Accord 2.2 iDtec? No. They aren't that economical and are pretty slow (particularly as autos). My Mercedes E350 gives better MPG that...

Any tips on buying a second hand 8th Gen Accord?

hi 8th Gens, quiet and comfortable? Yes I think so. On the motorway they are pretty good, quiet and reasonably low noise. Low speed ride around town is a tiny bit pattery which is about all I can think of negatively as regards comfort. Handling is fine too. I also find the seats very good...

    Disappointed Accord Owner

It sounds like you have a duffer. I do wonder if the steering weighting up and wandering are related? We have a 2009 2.4 petrol auto and the steering is a bit light at parking speeds but otherwise it's fine. The fuel economy of the 2.2 diesel is pretty poor. We drove our 40K miles 2.4...

    Looking at 8th gen petrols.

Petrols particularly 2.4's are damn rare. The estate is pretty easy to park with a reversing camera (what did we do before these...... err turn around!!). It's not quite as easy our other self parallel parking car. That's a cool gimmick.

    Buying an 8th gen diesel!

The Honda 2.2 is a little noisy at idle but good when on the move. DPF issues would be the main worry for me. Not at diesels are noisy inside and out. My latest diesel is quieter than our 2.4 Accord Tourer, at idle and when moving.

    why no 2.4s?

No you cant rev match the Accord gearbox, there are a few auto's do that but not the Accord. My friends Nissan 370Z does is for instance. Plus no it hasn't got the 0-60 of the manual. Once you get it going it's not bad. Having said that our 2.4 is called "Captain Slow" in our house. The new...

    Upgrades!

Very nice. I particularly like the wheels. In the best colour too (not that I'm biased)! I'd like change the alloys on ours too but it's really the Mrs car and she isn't bothered.

    why no 2.4s?

Hi Most people are looking for economy these days or low CO2 (car this size are in a large majority company cars) but our 2.4 doesn't do too many miles (coming up to 5yrs old and 37K miles) hence a petrol estate was what we wanted. It wasn't priced too much differently to a Civic either. When...

    Ipod integration

Hi In our 2008 MKViii we have ipod intergration. It connects no problems and you are easily able to navigate via the SatNav or steering wheel buttons through tracks/artists/playlists which are all shown on the SatNav screen. There are a couple of minor issues. Firstly it doesn't charge my...

Newbie - Hi and a few questions

Hi My Iphone pairs up with our Accord Tourer no problems. Then I use the voice commands to dial and call. It just doesn't recognise podcasts from the audio menu (when attached by the USB) so I put podcasts into a playlist on the iphone and it's sorted. Keen cyclist here! In terms of mountain...
