For those that may be interested, they have replaced the fuel filter, the fault also threw up the EGR valve so they are going to give that a clean tomorrow, so i am a day without the car, but i will get it back with 2 common issues resolved.

The dealers were ok to take it back and have a look at it. It is with them now. Is it me or does anyone else feel guilty when asked "how did you diagnose it?" And you come back with the Internet, as an answer. I can almost feel them rolling their eyes.

Well I am unsure if this is good or not. Got in the car this morning EML still on but no longer in limp home mode. I drive about a mile in it and park. Restart the car and the EML has now gone off, the car drives as good as ever.

I spoke to soon. Tonight the EML came on and it has gone into limp home mode. Here's hoping the garage I got it from will do something about it.

For some reason i thought i had read that the diesel tourer was introduced in 06, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
