Advice on buying 8th Gen Accord

haha! im not getting a jazz! my weekdays basically entail 6.5 miles of m'way in both directions to work plus about 2.5 miles of B road either way. Then some town driving later at night. MPG's not as bad as i thought for the dtec - but it looks like im probably best off with petrol - which...

Advice on buying 8th Gen Accord

that 2.0l looks smashing! its £1500 more than what i have to spend tho! You may be right with the petrol vs diesel argument. I reckon if i went for the civic 1.8 - id see around 35 mpg average. Im guessing the accord 2.2 dtec a touch over 40mpg average??? does that sound right to any diesel...

    Moisture on fog lamps

Yes :( mines due to a crack in the top tho, only way to get rid of mine is to replace the whole unit :( . There was a recall on the 7th Gen some time ago to fit 2 aluminium clips on the top of each unit, which i think strengthened the seal or something. Have a check?

Its a good point CJ. Although there does seem to be an option for "standard" and "auto" transmission ??? Do you think it would make a difference being LH drive as well? In theory shouldnt it be possible just to flip it round? (im not that nechanically minded  )

thanks al, i wouldnt say it feels major at the moment, the honda technician who drove it said its far from the worse he's dealt with, he was telling me about this one accord where he was driving it on roundabaout at 20mph and struggled to keep control of it! He reckoned i could get away with...

    time to replace my driveshafts

hi all, had some issues a while ago, with the whole car shaking when accelerating, puzzled me for a while to know what it actually was, tho i figured it was something in the drivetrain. Gradually it was getting worse so finally went to the local main dealer and they confirmed it was the...

    Do your headlights condensate.

ive never had this problem...up until recently when i bumped the back of another car amd its cracked my headlight unit :( tried taping it up but alas it has not worked, i will however try the silica gel thing as really dont want to have to pay for new electrics.
