Did you get this sorted? I had this problem to it changed every thing until I found out that euro car parts where supplying the wrong pads. Touring pads don't have the dimples on the back those where for the saloon. The ones on the car when I got it also had the dimples too. See an old post...

Thanks for the reply. So have just put a voltage meter on the connection of the socket and there is power, so when I connect the lighter socket and test that it's dead no voltage as far as I can see there is nothing melted or anything to cause it not to work? Confused!

So after getting a puncture today I used the compressor to try and get home. So after stopping 3 times to top with air, the compressor stopped working. Fuse had blown and melted a bit. So replaced with a new 15a fuse and now the socket is dead. Have checked all other fuses but all OK. Any...

Hi mate yes the fuel filter was replaced for new one and then the one on the replacement fuel pump so I know its not that. Will service the solenoid and go from there. Then have a look at throttle position sensor.

No mate it seems as though its only got 150 bhp then the full bhp kicks in. It never had a great service history and every time I have changed the oil its been very dark. My thinking is to clean the vtec control valve and replace the gasket

Vtec still kicks in at 6-7k the power loss or serge is befor that.

I will have to agree the others on this one. That's a massive overfill compared to mine. They must have got the new boy to do yours. Sorry I should have asked you how much of an overfill it was. My bad!!

Not long about a 3 weeks. I was trying to take it easy but you know what its like with that engine. I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep an eye on it. I try and do a oil check every week.

Oh and yes it was a Honda dealership!!

Funny that, after I spent 2k getting my engine sorted at my dealership I checked the oil when I got home and they too had overfilled it by miles. I didn't take it back and just kept the revs down till it eventually was correct on the dipstick. They must know these k24 engine's drink lots...
