    boot wont unlock

Exactly the one (except mines a bit worn). I went out and tried holding it down and the boot lid popped up! Chuffed with that! It'll be a good party trick to show the other half when out shopping :D

    boot wont unlock

Stupid question, but the Coupe has 3 buttons on the keyfob - lock, unlock, and mystery. The decals are worn off, but should the 3rd button unlock the boot on the Coupe? (It currently doesnt).

    Clarion stereo removal keys?

My 99 2.0i ES Coupe had a Clarion tape deck. There were 4 hefty bolts keeping it in place. Removal instructions are here. Easy enough to take off the centre dash: www.mediafire.com/?7aoltbba54dn9dl

    www.easynumberplates.co.uk

I used www.fancyplates.com in the past. Ordered plates that had UK font, with a euroband with NI country designation, and a small manfacturers logo on the bottom corner. No V5 required, though legally they say they are showplates. Got through several MOTs (GB and NI) without a problem. It may...

    Radio Removal

If it is similar to the coupe, the clock levered out, some screws at the bottom of the middle fascia, the whole thing popped out. Then there were 4 bolts keeping the tape deck in. Most overengineered audio installation I've ever seen! Hopefully the rest of the car is the same!

    Handbrake on auto Coupe

Hi, I just noticed that I drove to the end of the street with the handbrake on a few clicks, having been parked. IS there a mechanism for tightening the handbrake under the centre console? Also, what is the recommendation for parking an automatic? Leave it in Park, Park + Handbrake? Handbrake...

    Clear Repeaters / bootlip spoiler

I was considering fitting clear repeaters to the coupe. It is a small mod I usually make to cars with the amber items, such as my old Xantia and GTV, and freshens up the side front 1/4. Would clear repeaters from a saloon fit the coupe? Also, I have an old bootlip spoiler from my 406 that I...

    4 Stud Type R wheels

Would like nicer alloys for the Coupe Something like those would do the ticket. Honda dealer might be able to source centrecaps?

    Fuel consumption

95 RON is what I meant. Regular unleaded. Worked it out about 20mpg. Needs a service I reckon, seller was cagey about when it was last done. Might help the engine breathe.

    MP3 with standard system

I find a cheap tape adapter (the likes of Maplin does them) gives better sound quality than FM transmitters (Griffin itrip).

    Fuel consumption

£20 diesel in HDi 406 = 170 miles (when diesel was 130.9p) £25 petrol in Accord = 80 miles (unleaded 75ron is now 133.9p) I do suspect it needs a good service, will get stuck in to that job soon. Edit: I calculated that I'm now getting around 19.5mpg, compared to my old diesel which gave...

Thanks, I'll ring about and see what can be done.

    Locking nuts

Not sure if there would be room for a grinder, the nut is right in the hole. I'll try and get camera phone pics this lunchtime. Might nip up Donnellys in Boucher tomorrow lunch, see what they say.

    Locking nuts

Thanks Brett. I know of a good tyre garage that isn't like the rest (ie. "Those tyres are an oddball size" / suck air through teeth / "yer gonna need 4 new tyres" / "the puncture can't be repaired you need a new tyre" / "all we have are <<insert expensive brand they're trying to shift>> at...

    Optimistic Fuel Guage

Cheers, I'll have a look when I get a chance. I ***ume that there is no haynes manual for the coupe? :) Bit like the GTV, I downloaded a manufacturers workshop manual for that, will have to have a look and see if Honda produced one, even from US ebay.

    Locking nuts

Hi, I was looking at a similar unlocking socket set to that earlier. Even watched a video of some guy hammering a socket onto the lock nut on youtube. Would it grab though? All that is left on the wheel is similar to the middle right on this picture with the bolt going through the middle...

    Optimistic Fuel Guage

One of the niggles I found with my Accord coupe is that the fuel guage wont go any more empty than 1/4 full. It fills ok, but on driving it wont go lower than 1/4. I have topped it up on the 1/4 point so far, but was wondering if it would be a straightforward fix? Or does the fuel tank need to...

    Fuel consumption

My old 406 HDi got 45mpg at best, closer to 35 around town. The 2.0 vtec auto I reckon is using one and a half the amount of fuel the pug used to. For example, I would have put £20 diesel in and get 200 miles, in the Honda I am putting £30 for the same. But then I am happy to pay that for the...

    Locking nuts

Hi all. I am a recent owner of a 99 Accord Coupe 2.0 Auto. Having a look round it today, in the glovebox I found a box for some locking nuts. Checking the wheels, it appears the front wheels have locking nuts on them. But alas - no key! Fella I bought it off was a wheeler dealer type says he...
