Car is sluggish and ACC shows error

Hi all, this is my first post here hope to see if anyone came across this fault before:

During a regular drive my Adaptive Cruise Control light went yellow and wouldn't activate, saying there is a fault. At around the same time the car became sluggish. It wouldn't accelerate as before, I am talking hardly any response on flooring the gas pedal. Could it be that the car went into limp mode? Are the ACC and sluggishness connected? What should I try to check first?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

First thing would be plug in a diagnostic and retrieve any error codes. That will signal towards the underlying issue.

I tried with a simple OBD reader but it didnt read any error codes. Do I need a more capable reader?

Yep, need to scan all modules. What year and engine is the car? Where are you located?

It’s a 2011, Diesel engine. I am in Oxford.

I’m probably a bit of a trek for you but try and get it on a garage level diagnostics if you can’t find someone with a Honda dealer system nearby.

Has Honda removed dashboard light diagnostics on the Mk 8 ?
