Hi All,
I have found, particularly on long journeys, that the accelerator pedal is not comfortable to use. At motorway speeds it would make my ankle ache and if I increased the pressure on the pedal I would be going too fast (speeding points) and if I relaxed the pressure the speed would drop to about 65 mph. So I decided to have a look at the pedal/pedal box set up.
To cut to the chase, I found that inserting 3 x 1" M8 washers under the lower mounting pedal box stud has improved the feel of the accelerator and removed any play in the linkage between the pedal and the pedal box.
This modification lifts the angle of the pedal box arm and has the added benifit of making the car feel more responsive to the accelerator.
Cheers, Pete.
