K24 Oil Reccomendatios

Hi all. New mk8 owner here.

About to do a full suite of servicing as I normally do with any used car I purchase. Looking for reccommendations on oil for a slightly leggy (circa 100k) k24z. Can't seem to find a definitive answer for what the engine likes most. I've had good experiences with Petronas 5w30 in my previous car - a K20 FN2 which took me to 173k miles so was looking at the same stuff again. Car will probably do about 75% motorway miles.

The recommendation from Honda appears to be 0w20 but mine was last serviced by the previous owner at a Honda main dealer with 5w30 so I didnt want to change and upset it

I used the Petronas 5w30 on the latest service (myself) as it was cheap at halfords, 5L is enough to fill the engine and a bit spare, no issue since doing it a few months back - Petronas Syntium 3000 FR 5W-30 Oil 5L | Halfords UK

Torque GT who serviced mine after import used Fuchs ***an GT1 5W40

Mine is due an annual service at the end of Jan so I'm looking for a decent local specialist

After 12 months and +9k miles no major mechanical issues to report.

Bought my CW2 (K24Z3 engine) with 89k miles in May 2022. I've serviced it with Optima 0w20 (20L) and new Honda or HAMP filter every 6k miles and it's been great so far. Perfect cold starts etc. Car is now on almost 118k miles and I'm onto my second 20L.
