My friend bought 6th gen accord and got a set of filters. Where is the cabin filter located as he want's to replace that one himself. Is it somewhere behind the glovebox compartment like on 7th gen? Thanks

Should be yes mate.

Messier to change than 7th gen though - you have to remove a few screws and bolts to get to it.

to get to the cabin filter, the whole glovebox ***embly needs removing. Remove the plastic panel below the glovebox too. If you need more help, let me know and I'll try and get a tut up asap.

As Saj has said the whole glovebox needs to be removed and from memory there is a metal brace bar that you either remove on at least loosen. You also might find it better to undo some of the wiring loom connectors to gain access to it.

Again from memory you should then see where the filter is located and it simply pulls out, it is more a case of clearing anything obstructing you from pulling it out.

When you are doing the job it looks more serious than it is as half the dash seems to be missing, but really it is a few screws and is fairly easy to see what needs to be un-done etc.

Just write down / diagram whatever works for you a quick plan of how you have taken it apart. Probably half hour to an hours job max

i think i might do my sisters for her. A senile 90 year old could probably blow with more force than the fan on level 4!

I did mine recently. The metal bar has to come off, and there are bits of wiring that have to be moved and held out of the way, or the filter won't slide out. Took me about 20 minutes in total, although I now have a squeak from behind the dash somewhere, so I may have forgotten to put something back properly!

Saj IIRC you did a DIY for the 6th gen didnt ya? , you must have the pictures on your hosting site ? Knock something up fella.

I cant remember where i hosted them unfortunately CJ.

I will do my best to get a few tuts up for this and others soon. Just very busy at the mo,

Excellent. I'll pass the information. Pictures would be even better but if you can't find them he'll have to do without them.
