Iv been looking for bits and bobs for my Accord for when i get my next pay slip and iv found that for my Xreg 1.8i Vtec S i seem to be very limited on choice.
Can bits of a 2.0 Accord for example go onto mine or will i have to buy universal?!
Mainly the induction kits, i would rather pay more and put a type R part on than pay less for universal.
Also lowering springs, had a few probs finding some but think Apexi do some.
Also would want to remap it, but fahad says that mine cant be done. Do you know what course of action i would have to take from there?!
Firstly an air filter is an air filter ***uming its a good brand if you want sound and performance then cone filter with a cold air feed is your best bet, if you dont want sound then, a replacement panel filter or encloded cone filter is your best bet. If I recall the intake pipe on the 6th gen how a oval end, difficult to find the exact air filter neck diameter, probs easier to ebay some 3inch ali prelude intake piping. ***uming your get a good brand the type r filter will gain you nothing extra.
Europerformance is a good place to start for suspension makes for your 6th gen. Koni are the best dampers on the market at the moment so if you go for springs I recommend you slap on some dampers.
Remapping wise, so far I have learnt that some Honda ECUs are reprogrammable and some are not, you need to find the ECU code printed on the ECU cover to conclude the findings.
Though if youve got 700 pounds kicking about then just stick in a H22a swap, thats 212bhp done.
Guy, if you're willing to spend the money - anything is possible. Your stock ECU won't be tunable in standard form, without either a piggyback ECU or some fairly involved work to the ECU (it's not designed to have the software altered).
And even if it was, the gains would not be worth the money on your car.. Thats the problem really.
Yeah i looked into it abit earlier and found that i would need something like that APEXi - Super AFC NEO is that right?! Think thats a piggy back unit.
I think what im going to do is just a few light subtle mods just to satisfy my needs and then save up for Type R or as Marcus suggested dropping a nice lump in the bay! Lol
not really, however if you measure the distance between the top of the struts in the back i can tell you if the 90-97 strut brace would fit as i have one on my 4th gen they are adjustable distance wise by about 90mm
There really are VERY few power options for the 6th gen. Apart from a conversion (enigne or FI) then all there is is exhaust and breathing. As for a filter. I used to have a Prelude one on my old 2.0 6th gen. It cost £35 and sounded great! Someone on here (charlie i think) has bought the same one for his car and agrees that the sound is awesome!!!!
If you'ds like i can find the link again and post it up for you,
stick this on it will fit, the piping alone is worth that money run that filter for a while, tho i found it to be slightly wooly in sound (basing this on my dads old 6th gen 2.0i) , i change it out and slapped on a pipercross air filter.
Note its in 2 parts, so you can run the s bend only for the short ram, or add the l bend for the cold air intake (filter in wheel well not in bay)
Cheers 93, that's about 50quid in sterling ain't it? Bargain. Il defo get that when get cam belt done!!
Keep meaning to messure rear struts but had crap hours at work il do it soon!!
Well i dont what to be held responsible if you cant get it to fit! But if you fit the S bend part leaving out the L bend bit then it should bolt in without any probs. To add the L bend requires a bit of this and that, but not necessary
Haha I bet you wondered what I was going on about then!!
I just remembered to, were I live theses a bloke what tunes rally cars so might become his best friend!! Lol
Oh sexy!! Lol
Where you get rear bumper and skirts from? Very nice. I seen some on ebay and there only 200 which seems a bit cheap?? I really want to get mine lowered to!!
I was talking to my mate lastnight and he don't think my cars a sport as its not colour coded or got a lil spoiler like yours! That right??
my old one wasn't a sport either mate. Was a 2.0. The Sports are a 1.8 and are hatchbacks. They come with white dials too. That's usually how you can tell them apart.
Are there any pics of yours on the site? If not get some up and someone will soon tell you what's what.
As for the kit it cam from the M99 site. It was a good looking car, and certaintly turned heads.
