Will these work in my headlights http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-Car-H1-HID-Xenon-White-25-SMD-LED-Bulb-Head-Light-/330660834188?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cfcebeb8c&_uhb=1

that time of year i start going through bulbs like confetti

Work: Yes
Be any use at all: No

No point mate! It won't fit in the tiny place allocated for the bulbs behind the headlights

Ah, the lovely bulb debate, ive given up caring. I went through 3 last week alone !!! That halfords trade card comes in very handy, i can get 6 and still have change out of a tenner.

I fitted these in my TVR, some cheap HID kits are *****, they don't last, and they dazzle oncoming drivers. These ones were good, I had no problems at all.

LED'S are only good for side lights as they will not give the correct light output for main headlights.

Those are the same tbh as 'cheap kits' which are fine imo. dazzling oncoming drivers is down to what type of lens you use not the source of light you may have refraction type lens fitted to the tvr

These LED H1 bulbs are for fog light fittings not headlights, they don't produce a proper beam pattern, and the light output is quite poor on these cheaper ones, they are ok for a spotlight like a front fog.

So four years on and LED technology has moved on greatly.
Has anyone tried the newer LED bulbs in their Accords, I don't mean the cheaper ebay tat but the more expensive fan cooled bulbs??
These should work ok with the projector style lamps. May dazzle with the high beam.

I didn't see a full guide anywhere on this forum, there were one or two threads talking about it but none showing pictures or videos of fitment

I fitted LED H1 bulbs as my main beams and they are amazing!!! Word of warning though - the metal clip that sits over the back to lock them into position did not fit right on mine so required some manual customisation to work correctly which luckly my brother was able to do otherwise I would have been returning them!

Same goes for the link @Remedi just posted, I cant see the metal retainer holding it correctly either

What did he do exactly?

Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info.

He had to create pastic outshots which sit over the back of the bulb so the metail retaining clip had something to catch onto. Kinda hard to explain and I didnt take any photos. Also lined the housing with strong tin foil like material to deflect heat away from the rubber end cap

I tried some in my main beams (i already have some fitted in dip beam) but i couldn't get a watertight seal on them and my headlight housing started to steam up so i took them out again.
These are the lamps i have, https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/products/pair-of-latest-led-headlights-h1-6800-lumen-main-or-dip-beam-conversion-9-32v
