sat nav

my accord has a sat nav built into it, tho it doesnt really work or more to the point i dont understand it, it seems to only be an arrow on the screen with a distance.

the cd player has been changed and i was wondering if maybe that used to be used for sound with the sat nav?

is there a way to upgrade the sat nav? or should i just leave it be as a piece of history or rip it out!

i may look for a standard cd player as i have a multi-changer in the boot and it would be nice to use that again.

Have you tried restting it mate by taking the fuse out or anything?

There should be a dvd playerin the boot for the sat nav disk, is this present?

Can you maybe take a pic of your setup now to get an idea of what you have?

Agree with shabz on this mate look at the simple things first before wasting money.This may sound silly but has it ever worked and have you checked to see if there is a problem with the disk if there is one.

theres no disk or anything, though there is a player in the boot for the sat nav. be nice to get it going but not the end of the world if not. the cars only worth £700 the sat nav is a bonus! if i can get it going i will but bloody hell it takes ages to enter ur destination etc as you have to scroll to each letter and all of that.

Thats your answer then mate you need a disk.A kind word watch the bad language its not tolerated here.

If your car is a exec you need the original cd or cassette player for the sound. It has an extra conector for the sat nav and the bose sub in the boot. I lost the sound in mine when i changed the original bose cassette to a sony cd player. I managed to get a bose cd player off ebay for mine and i'm putting that back in. As for the arrow on the screen. You can change it from the info menu on the sat nav and you need the cd with the maps on to go in the boot.
