Hi people,
I just came back from my Honda seller.
I have the VSA + "!" light on my dashboard (after reading, i think it should be an 66-? error code).
I ask to the Honda concession for a diagnostic (to have the error code) but it's not possible to have a date before September (i am living in France ;-)...juste for a diag!!!!
I saw that there are many possibilities for self diag; is there a free method to read the error code or should i buy a dongle or something on Ebay?
I only have apple stuff (powerbook and iphone) and i don't know if there are special interface for this.

You can buy OBD reader from ebay.
 
You need a handheld OBD2 reader you can get them on eBay for around £20. Someone else may be able to advise which offers the best value for money.

I hope it will be helpfull to cancel the VSA light.
 
unless you have a budget for a professional scanner it would be cheaper to take it to a dealer.
 
I thought the VSA was a Honda specific protocol and normal OBD2 readers won't read VSA faults. I could be wrong though. There's a thread from ages ago about OBD readers and which is best to get.
 
Ok, done a little more reading. You'll need a reader that can read HDS (Honda Diagnostic System). I think this should get you VSA codes, but standard OBD2 isn't enough (still not 100% sure though, best wait for a second opinion).
 
i will try (i order it yesterday)...so let's see.
Is there a complete solution (and cheap) not necessiting a Personnal Computer (i am a mac user)?

when a idiot garage Brian knows triggered the ! on my accord by breaking a abs sensor i had to get it to a diagnostic garage to get it cleared, clearly it was not a device that you could get for 20quid.
 
I like to check because, if it's only the ABS sensor I can change it by myself, non need to go to the garage.
My Honda resseller don't want to look at the car, they said if it VSA light you have to pay 2 000 eur for changing captor and VSA module.

there is no excuse in the year 2013 for someone not being able to access windows ffs.

anyway, honda are just going to take you for a ride so forget them.

get onto a proper windows pc, check the fault and clear it if possible.

(after changing any defective sensors etc)

You have a very valid point though. Find a mate or someone with a Windows laptop, I'm sure you could get things underway nicely then.

there is no excuse in the year 2013 for someone not being able to access a sh*t car (like Citroen or Renault) instead of driving a Honda :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

they used to be the king for desktop publishing, but now i don't see the point of apple anything, unless you want to be brain washed into their inferior vastly inflated ecosystem

but maybe thats just me.
