Hi Guys

Accord 2005 I-CTDI

I have a small leak started on one of the joints of the feed hose coming from the pump to the rack. It is the hose that comes out of the top of the Power steering pump. Having looked on Lings Honda parts site I am in total shock!!!!

In excess of £250 inc vat. for it. No way can it be worth that

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good secomd hand part or third party supplier.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Hi edgeoftime

Thanks for your reply.

I had thought of that. No doubt it will be a lot cheaper than Honda but the only problem is if they can make a hose up with the same ends as the Honda one.

There is a Pirtec store in Southampton so I will give them a call.

Still can't get over the cost of parts for Honda. Parts for my Mercedes don't cost as much in general.

If anyone knows where I can get a second hand one at a reasonable price please let me know.

Thanks again

let us all know if Pirtech can rescue you. they should be able, most fittings are metric on the Honda, and most bits are universal. If it is the pipe to fitting joint you should be laughing.

Hi

Sorry for the delay in replying.

I did contact Pirtec and they wanted approx £120-£150 to do the job.

I found another company in Bournemouth who do similar work and they quoted approx £50 and could do it while I wait if I took the part of first.

I was talking to a reliable source and he said that his garage uses these people all the time so I have arrange a visit next week.

Thanks for your input guys. Save me buying a Honda part at extortionate price!!!

Regards

Hi,

A friend on mine has accord 2004 2.2 iCTDi and is looking for a replacement power steering hose. Anyone knows similar company around northwest or specialist Honda breakers?
Cheers.

Abit late I found a company on eBay that was selling brand new top power steering hose £90 delivered fitted perfectly

Looks like we both may have found the same seller :) . I have also ordered it for the same price. Good to know that it fits perfectly. Cheers!

Does somebody know similar company around Bristol?
Just two more questions about PS hose:
- Are the hoses for diesel and petrol Accords compatible?
-To replace the hose, is the lower end of the house (to rack) accessible if remove driver side will or is from underneath the car after lifting?

My one is diesel don't know if fit both.try to ring them.U can't get cheaper then 75£.
Thank you milluc, I know this is the lowest price even for used one. I don't want to comment the ridiculous prices of original one (£250) and after-market ones aswell...
I would repeat my last question, if somebody knows please:
-To replace the hose, is the lower end of the house (to rack) accessible after remove driver side wheel, or is accessible just from underneath the car after lifting?
I ask because I'd like to replace it myself.

If I was going to do it, I'd get the front of the car up on axle stands, take the offside wheel off, and that would cover all situations. You might even have to remove the plastic wheel arch as well

Hi milluc
Do you keep your old hose (unusable)?
I found a company which can make me very cheep new one but needs metal parts from old hose, will replace just rubber parts...
I would ask if somebody else has old hose, I am happy to pay for postage.

Was replacing the hose as easy as taking off roadwheel to get access? I'm just about to do this job myself.

I would like to ask one more question. Great find, which I did myself as well, but got stuck, as while looking I have found two different OEM numbers: 53713-SDA-Q02 and 53713-SEF-E01. Not sure which one fits which car. On some pages, it states that 53713-SDA-Q02 fits Tourer:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-HONDA-ACCORD-2-2-DI...
but on another page, the same number fits a normal Honda accord 2.2 diesel. Can anyone explain, if this part fits both? What about the second one 53713-SEF-E01? On some other site I found in the description that its the same part:
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/53713-SDA-Q02-New-High-Pressure_60692651134.html
The same on this one:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-03-07-HONDA-

My car is Hoda Accord 2004 2.2 CTDi. Please let me know if that will fit my car? Plus just estimate price for the replacement from the garages, basicaly what to expect. Thanks.
