What's new

type r look alike

Car looks good man. Although the notion of putting Type-R badges on a non Type-R is a hotly debated one. Many often believe the body kits etc is fine, as long as it's not wearing the badge, claiming to be something it's not. But it doesn't change the fact, the car looks very nice mate.

Lovely looking car fella it's very much like Dales car

Looks good mate, what exhaust you running, dual setup? Needs lowering btw lol

One of my first Accords and my attempt to a type r

Dual exhaust, lowered, sitting on some 17's and induction kit. Loved that car

Looks good matey, as steve said alot of people dont like it if you have a typeR badge and its not one. My car was an ATR lookalike when i bought it and i got alot of stick for it wearing the badges, the car has changed totally now and still looks sharp even though its not a lookalike anymore. One thing to think about though, TypeR's have 5 stud wheels but nobody could tell with mine as the studs were covered on my old 18's. Keep up the good work dude.

Mine has front and back bumpers type-r alike, wheels, and 2 exaust, no badges and i have a good reason for that...out here there are a lot of modded hondas(k20 swaps, turbos, etc), even with no badges i get "race invitations" all the time in traffic...and this isn´t the right car for races if you know what i mean :)

Please tell me where you got those rear parking sensors, Looks like a nice fit.
Like your wheels and exhaust as well

Vasco your car looks lovely mate, just needs a Type R mesh grille, did you paint the side skirts?

Oh...sorry for the late reply but i was suposed to be informed on new replies...
The rear parking sensors where bought at a local chinese store, lol, 35€.

exec side skirts were painted, yes. If you only knew how long have i been looking for a grill like that...do you know where i can buy one?

Got mine off eBay. There's always someone either breaking one or selling bits for a type r. Try and get them to post it out to you.

Yes, i see. But i would like one similiar to this: http://bit.ly/YUSuJX, not a type-r one.
I know with the time and effort i could make one, but time is also money and the time it would take me to do one, becomes cheaper to buy(problem is i cant find any...)

Had a look for a good few months before I got mine. I only came across them on American websites. I'm sure it would be worth the time and effort if you could make one.

have you tried Honda?

I got the insert (not the chrome bit) for £20-something (that was 3 years ago)

there may still be some new ones knocking around..

Not sure why that is £123, I bought the mesh type r grill for only £27 from Holdcroft, was a bargain!

But you could just use bit of mesh and make one yourself.

I tried and failed to build a mesh one.... I did use the normal one and build a badgeless one, sadly though I gave all 3 grilles away when I sold my car a few years ago.

oh and Genaccord no longer belongs to me....

That small difference makes a much better look, you used parts from 2 to build 1, right?
thats right, both from scrapyard, some hot glue and filler works wonders :)

over weekend I'll try and find the build thread, it used to be on here but I deleted my PB account

I have dolphin parking sensors on my 2006 accord - standard DSP400 kit
They are awesome. Great fit and look OEM, excellent value and life time warranty on all parts too
They have unplug-able sensors for easy change if they were to get damaged

Few kits knock around second hand on ebay too.
These are cheap too a few people i know have this kit and works well

Accord looks great though, i do agree with the type r badge on a non type r but you have done a good job on the car.

Keep up the good work :)
