In the front footwell there is a blue light in the airbag cover, it comes on with sidelights. Is it an airbag sensor? When i removed it it had a plastic cover and when i removed it it looked like a laser lens from a cd player. What is it and does it have any purpose other than to show blue light?
Can i change its colour from blue to red?

Thanks

These are your footwell ambient lights - nothing to do with the airbag

yes you can change to red, buy a red LED and it will consist of splicing the cables etc..

Thanks, but is their a specific led type or any type of led will do?

If were definitely talking about an 8th gen Accord, then this is the ambient mood lighting, one in each footwell and one on the roof shining down on the gear stick.

The EX models have blue, the GT models red. Expect a dealer could supply the red LEDs from a GT model. Or look on Lings Honda parts website.

Damien a little tip to make the lights brighter is to drill a 10 hole in the dark cover on the led housing.
I did this with mine and the effect is soo good.
