Have been considering changing my front ARB bushes, because they didn't look too happy when I had the car jacked up recently.

However, reading various posts on the t'internet, I believe it could be a bit more tricky than the usual two bolts, 15 minute job.

Can anyone confirm what has to be done to get them changed? Does it really require dropping the subframe, or are there ways to get a spanner in there to undo the bush-cover bolts?

Hmmm - thought as much, though it's not like Honda to complicate what should be an easy job.

Best ask the garage guy for a shot of his ramp, then!

Thanks.

did you ever get this sorted? was it as painful as the workshop would suggest, or could you manage just dropping the frame a bit?

The trick to this is to:

1. Jack the car up and get on axle stands.
2. Loosen the mid-engine mounts on the subfame
3. Support the rear of the subframe with a jack
4. Remove rear-subframe bolts
5. Lower the rear of the subframe about 1.5-2 inches.
6. Remove the front bracket bolt
7. Use a swivel join and socket to loosen the rear bolt of the holder
8. Replace bushes
9. Jack back up subframe
10. Replace rear bolts
12. Replace mid-frame bolts

How long should it take to do? Seems more involved than the rear bushes.

I'm suprised NO ONE has done a diy on this yet? I would but sadly do not have the car no more and had them replaced when clutch was done.

Takes about 1.5 hours to do as a DIY.

Next time I do a car, I'll make a DIY for it.

Thanks for that Tim! :)
