Hi does anyone knows why the i get white smoke when starting the engine usualy cold mornings or if I don't use the car for a day or two when I start the engine I get that white smoke ???

I get that to its normal i would say.Its probably just the condensation drying out from the exhaust.

i would also say its fine... it should dissapear once the engine is at full opperating temp..

its blue smoke you have to worry about!

Mine does the same I wouldnt worry about it.

Could be a turbo on its way out but don't want to scare you.

Does the car lose any oil, have any unusal noises etc?

More importantly, what happens when you are driving, the car is up to temp and you put your foot down, if you can see the car behind then should be fine.

if it's only when the car is cold then I would say its ok if it does it all the time then there is probably something wrong. As long as you're not using coolant or oil and the car goes ok I wouldn't worry

Sounds normal, mines does it for about the first 5 mins of driving and clear as a whistle.

I would however keep an eye on all the engines fluids to rule out anything mechanical.

Oil is fine and it only has 42k on the clock but it does make noise I think it's from the rail or injectors and that is only when revving at 2500 to 3000 ???
Thanks for quick reply. You guys are great

Thank you guys for quick reply you are very helpful I love this forum great job for all of you.
Thanks again

That sound is quite normal, it's the injectors.. I think like the others have said, it's nothing to worry about mate, just enjoy the car ;)

2.5-3k i get a nice sound of the turbo.I normally get a slight diesel rattle at 1.5-2k which i think is normal its only there for a slit sec.But that could be the remap as the turbo spoils earlier.

I get this, but its blue smoke.. not all the time
when I floor the car I get a small puff of smoke but its not so bad that I cant see behind me!...
cars on 170k so probly is turbo issues.

On that mileage and age could well be failing oil seal in the turbo. Does it use much oil?
