Sorry if I've missed the answer to this in a previous thread, but as we all know Honda omitted HID lights unless you specified the GT Pack or went for the Type S. Having done the upgrade on my old CL7, I'm keen to do it on the 8th gen, but between looking under the bonnet and reading the manual, the only access to the headlight bulbs seems to be via the wheel arch. On the CL7, the ballast units could be zip tied to the ABS pump in the engine bay....does anybody know if there is a suitable mounting point available on the 8th gen......and has anyone tried the HIDs4U kit that it "guaranteed" to work with all electrical systems.....or someone got another kit to recommend?

Hi Jason iv got after market hids in my car.
The best way is bumper off and 3 bolts on each light.
Take them out and fit your hids.
It took me about 1 hour to do

Seriously? The bumper has to come off? What happened to the good old days when all front bulbs could be got at from the engine bay!

Cheers for the info Brett, what mounting locations are there for the ballast units?

Trust me it's the easiest way.
Also by taken the lights out you can mount the ballast under the lights and fix then with cable ties.

Hello John, my name is James, Unfortunately still at this point no aftermarket HID kit is strictly road legal as you are changing the lighting system (from halogen to gas discharge) in your car and for this reason the bulbs can't be E marked which is a legal requirement. You also won't have the self leveling and washer systems installed which is also a legal requirement for HID and without these installed the kit would be an MOT failure. HID kits are plug and play so they are easy to remove and replace with standard bulbs come MOT time.
