What are your thoughts on getting the roof painted black or getting vinyl?

So far i have been quoted £200 for a roof respray (black over the silver)
£130 for Vinyl (Not 3M) and £200 for the 3M material

What are your thoughts ? Mine is a silver 2002 honda accord SE ?

Look into plastic dip you could do it yourself I'm going to do my grill with it look it up on YouTube plus I got the plastic dip from ebay

Tony beware ... I used this last weekend .. Make sure its fully dry with at least 5 coats before peeling the excess ... I did my window chromes with not the best of results .....i masked right up to the edge of the bottom chrome and when peeling off the mask it lifted some of the plasti dip off the trim :-( had to rip it all off lol it is not as easy as fonze says

I would go the Vinyl route, as the finish and effect is very good and its reversible, so you keep the original silver paint all intact.

Cheers Guys, I think i will stick with Vinyl as its reversible and plastic dip sounds good but i looks like far too much work

tbh if you have the time vinyl it yourself the stuff of ebay is about £30 and its good stuff I have done the bonnet of my old car and things with it just heat it with a hair dryer and keep it warm to stretch it round the bends.

Yeah vinyl would be my choice too. Avoid plastidip though! Do a search for plastidip issues, and you will find lots of people that have had plastidipped a panel then took it off a year or two later, only to find the lacquer is "bloomed" and looks cloudy, unfortunately only fixable by respraying the panel.

Apparently it's moisture getting through the film but not back out, meaning it gets trapped and damages the lacquer.
