Anyone know how much it is now for a clutch replacement at Honda? I thought it was a happiness deal but I can't find it on the fixed price list online any more.

About £800?

My thrust bearing has been making noises for a while, I guess the flywheel should be done at the same time as well?

I'm not sure how the "happiness deal" works, but I do know that when I had the clutch done on my car, the "happiness deal" stopped a few months later. My car is a pre-facelift and I had the clutch done about 3 years ago IIRC, so I doubt if you qualify for it any longer.

£800 at a dealer is about right, although that might prove to be an HH price

Give it a while Trev, the self-adjuster on the pressure plate may just be a little sticky.

You may need a new DMF if/when the clutch is replaced, but a proper ***essment of the free play in the mechanism can only be made during the clutch replacement.

Well I had expected it to go sooner or later so I'm not that upset about it, but I had heard about giving it some shock therapy to wake up the adjuster :D I have been using it less recently as the missus is now learning to drive so we're using her car for work and stuff - once she passes I will be using it more, maybe it's just stuck.

Shock therapy can definitely be successful in such cases, but mine recovered from a bout of slipping by just taking it easy for a few weeks.... it's been OK now for several years.

A genuine flywheel is close to £1k, and its about £800 for the clutch and for honda to change it..i guess they may add on an extra hour to include the flywheel.. So around £2k for the lot..

So getting on for what a 2007 Accord might be worth then? Ouch!

It would be much cheaper to buy LUK parts (which are the OEM ones) and have a decent independent garage fit them.

Phoenix close Honda specialist quoted me 1k was a member not sure now though

Not sure how you can be quoted 1k and they fly wheel is seriously expensive. Plus the labour and clutch.

The links I provided showed where you could buy the OEM (e.g. as supplied to Honda by LUK) DMF and clutch for about £525 (you could probably get it for less elsewhere, but I haven't searched). Makes £1K for the job look a bit on the dear side!

1k is probably the going rate from a Honda independent.
If you want a dealer to do the work your talking roughly 2k.
In stead of been negative give them a ring

Give your local dealer a ring - you may be pleasantly surprised. When I phned up for a pre-emptive quote just in case Rowes Honda in Plymouth quoted me £700 for a new clutch fitted or £1100 if the DMF needed doing as well.

Just ask HH for two quotes, one without flywheel, one with flywheel

When I had the clutch done on my car, they rang up and said that the technician had the exhaust/subframe/gearbox/clutch-plates off, and wanted to know if I wanted the flywheel replaced. I went down to take a look, and he showed me a lot of discolouration on the flywheel. I asked how much a new flywheel was, and it was a lot of money, so I said "leave it". I've had no problems with the clutch since it was done. Obviously the flywheel in the 2.4 is very different, but just saying.
