guys,

Friend of mine has recently bought a 6th Generation accord 1.8 S (2001).
When using his key remote, only the driver side door locks.
The other ones don't lock. But you can hear a click coming from the other doors.

Do you guys have any idea what the problem could be, or how to solve it? (reset or something??)

do the amber light flash when he press button to lock?

No they don't. When he presses lock only the driver side doors locks, the others don't

When amber lights doesnt flash it means one of your door or bonnet or boot is not closed properly. Otherwise i would see problem in central lock ecu located in drivers door. U have to strip them. Good luck with it. But i would check door sensors if there isnt any faulty. Good luck with that

But would that not mean that it should not work at all? Because the driverside door does lock/unlock with the keyfob. The others dont..
What do u mean with door sensors? The black pins that get pressed when u close a door?

Yes i mean those pins. And once happened to me i didnt close door properly and when i locked car, it made locking sound, but amber light didnt flash and car wasnt closed at all. There could be another reason. In each door there is metal rod that is connected to that thingy which pops out or in when locking car. It could happen that rod pops out or that thingy and car isnt locking. U can check it by pressing that thingy in and out if u hear any click sound. Hope this will sort it out.

Will check this tommorow. Hopefully this is the problem, otherwise i think a trip to the garage only will solve it.

no dont go to garage, its wasting money. It could be really simple reason. Check it out, let us know. I will ask some of my friends for ideas as im curretly out of any.

Hello guys,

First of all I am the owner of the Honda Accord I've recently bought. Friend of mine already had an account on this forum so he asked the question about the central locking issue.

Thank you for all the advices.

@Havoc Today I have checked that thingy in all doors by pressing it in and I heard a click sound. I also checked the door sensors separately by opening and closing a door each. They seem to work too.

So the last thing left is the central lock ecu.

hello, well i hope it will be that ECU, otherwise i really dont know what it could be. Another thing could be programming your remote to your car but it seems working s ur drivers door are locking. I hope its only cable unplug issue. Good luck and keep us updating ;)

edit: did u check hood and boot too? central locking is working for those areas too

Yes, I also checked the hood and boot and they seem to work properly. That doesn't seem to be the problem. I don't know much about the electric stuff. So I will have to go to the garage, I think.

sorry to hear about it (also for late response -> i was in Germany) looks like u have to take it to garage. Did u check ECU in door panel?

Finally I took it too a garage and they ****ysed the problem. It seems to be the motor of the door locking mechanism. Yesterday I replaced this motor with ones I found on a scrapyard. Finally Three of the four doors are working properly now! One motor left to replace. Thank you all for your help!!
