Hey everyone.

Just wanted to know how much oil your 6th gen Accord drink, mostly because i am curious :)

Mine drinks about 100-200 ml. for every 10.000km/6200miles.

Greetings.

thats normal consuption for VTEC engine. More VTEC u use, more oil it drinks ;)

My first 6th gen was a 2.0i es and I have that when it was 3 years old. I can honestly say no matter how much abuse I gave that engine it didn't drink an ounce of oil between its annual changes. It was a very rare occurrence I topped up.

Obviously with age these cars consume a little. My TypeR on the other hand had a drink problem lol.

My current 7th Gen diesel consumes very little oil too

Mine was 'drinking' a lot, but that was because of an oil leak! Gonna see how it runs now with that fixed.

"Havoc" I was actually told by an Honda mechanic, that 1 liter for every 10.000 km is normal.
This is correct and does state it your car manual this can be the max oil consumption.
My 2.4 uses about 0.5 L per every 6K with plenty of Vtec.
I'm sure in the book though it states 1L per 1000 miles

No I was correct Brian sort of but worse/just got the manual out of the car and this is what it says.
The rate of oil consumption can be up to 1 litre per 1000km/625 miles.Consumption is likely to be higher when engine is new.

Very shocking indeed.

I'm sure now most car company's state the same figures or it's just to cover them selfs from people complaining.
TBO if my car was using this amount I would have got shot of it straight away.
