Replacement exhaust for 2.0 petrol tourer

If that quote was from Honda it wont be £185 for the cat back, thats the cost of the rear silencer on its own and they charge £100 just for the tail pipe finisher.

You can get a full custom stainless steel cat back made for about £350-400 that will never need replacing.

Really? So how does the rear silencer connect to the rest of the exhaust, looks like its all one-piece to the cat in that diagram, and from looking under my car.

Managed to find one at a local breakers for £60, so fingers crossed its in decent nick...

Yes thats good if you can get one from the breakers.

The exhaust in most cases consists of downpipe, cat, b-pipe then backbox.

^ not on the 7th gen, the exhaust on the 2.4 is same as on the 2.0, except that there is a separate branch off the main branch (the main branch runs complete from the cat)

You were right about the finisher though, £100 on its own! crazy.

I know, crazy money

Need a new rear silencer and am slightly horrified that these are now just over £300. Luckily the rear box section on it's own is £60 delivered (Zombie Car Parts).
But was curious about the following.

Looking at the Lings parts pages. Reg number & VIN number selection aren't working currently (come on Lings, get it sorted) and the model selection leads me to the ultimate choice of equipment. Do I have 5AT or 5MT transmission?
I'd have thought one was 5 spd auto and the other 5 spd manual, but no, both are listed as "auto cruise", so there must be a variation in the box fitted.
Any ideas? How to tell?
