Can any help or advise on how to adjust ? Other motorists are flashing me constantly when I have dipped beam on. I have correct bulbs H7 'I think'. Thanks.. Joe

The bulb might not be in right i had the same trouble abit back i noticed when dark that it didnt seem to light up the road proerly so had a look and the bulb was out of place abit, other then that it might just be that you need to adjust your beam angle which on mine is near the ignition and cruise control on/off button

They were very dull when I first got the car. I put through M.O.T and garage adjusted them but they are now too bright . I took it back to the garage to sort but they have not done so and I am not going back as they seem like a dodgy crowd altogether.
Thank you for your reply . I will try the switch you suggested but it has been on the '0' setting since I have had the car. Cheers.. Joe

FWIW on my Legacy the headlights are aimed too high on setting 0, I've dipped them a bit by the adjuster switch and now I don't get flashed by every passing car.

The peevish side of me just wanted to leave my full beams on constantly to really give them something to flash about

Thanks very much for the advice. I will adjust the switch and see how it goes. Cheers.. Joe

I have adjust the dial to a different position so will just see how it goes when I drive at night if anyone else flashes at me. Thanks for your reply and I really appreciate all your help. Thank you so much. Cheers.. Joe

Hi

The adjusters are there, but not always easy to find - and the ones on the headlight levelling (up/down) mechanism can strip the gear making them impossible to use if the screwdriver used is not the right kind.

I'll post pictures tommorow showing what to adjust, but I replaced both headlight ***emblies on my 2001 Accord 1.8i this year after the plexiglass lenses became rather too opaque to get through the MOT!

Adjusters for Accord Headlights - Note, the Left/Right Adjusters are best used with a Ball ended Hex Key, and the Up/Down electric adjuster should be set using a Philips #2 screwdriver NOTE - the smaller Philips #1 screwdriver will damage and or strip the geared adjuster on the Up/Down adjuster.

Here are the adjusters - The one with the Allen Key is the Left/Right Adjuster, the Screwdriver is in the Up/Down Adjuster -

Both of these are for the Left Hand (Passenger side) headlight, the Driver Side is a Mirror Image

A word about screwdrivers, the Up/Down Adjuster has a plastic cog as the adjuster, if you use the wrong size screwdriver to adjust it you WILL strip the gear on the adjuster, The correct size screwdriver is a Philips # 2 - not the smaller Philips #1 see pic below (The sorry component in the middle is a stripped gear!! - I would add that it was not stripped by me - I bought the headlamp ***embly used, and it came pre-bodged!!).

Before and after headlamps - note that the whole bumper has to be removed to swap them,

Both replacement headlamps were bought used on the internet, the driver's side headlamp came from Southampton, the passenger's side headlamp came from Cumbria. Both appeared to be 'as new' - probably replaced following accident damage to their respective donor cars. They cost £20 each, which is a bit less than Honda dealer prices!

This close up shows the few undamaged teeth on the damaged adjuster I took apart, fortunately the headlights I was replacing had undamaged electric adjusters.

To swap out the adjusters, the whole electrical adjuster unit can be removed from the headlamp - it is a bayonet-like fitting on the headlamp ***embly, once the the unit is free, the white ball end on the left needs to be pulled free from the headlamp reflector itself, it is a tight fit but it does part eventually.

Here is the driver's side replacement headlamp, it is upside down in this photo, and the alloy bracket on the left is non-standard, I fabricated it to reinforce the original plastic fitting which ParcelFarce had managed to snap off in transit from Southampton!!

Fortunately the repaired bracket did not prevent the headlamp from fitting perfectly
