I ordered some LED sidelight bulbs for the accord. I had a quick look and it seems tight on the drivers side as the PS bottle and windscreen washer bottle are in the way. Has anyone got any tips to save me scraping the skin off my hands?

I know some cars require you to remove the bumper or replace them by removing the arch liner, is any of that needed for the accord?

Thanks

I go from the side of the arch. I actually take the arch lining off a bit and just force my hand in to reach the bulb. They are a pain on the diesel with such a big engine block

Find two plastic rivets? in the leading edge of the wheel arch remove them, and pull the inner plastic splash guard back out of the way, reach in and grab bulb holder twist a/clockwise and pull out. Good idea to get some of those plastic rivets though as they generally break.. I think they are 8mm. The bulb holder you are looking at is for the headlamp main and dip beams, to get at those remove the 10mm set bolt holding the neck/filler of the washer bottle and remove, then you will just be able to get at the holders, all done by "feel" the spring has circular ends squeeze them togeher and release from catches on bulb holder, no screw drivers or tools required, and the bumpers stay put.

I managed to find a bolt either side that can also be undone with a cross head screwdriver. I undid this then popped out the clip above the bolt which broke once side. The previous owner had replaced the passenger side one with a screw. I think I have some universal clips around somewhere but for now the arch lining stays on ok with one fixing. All in all the job took a max of 10mins the majority of which was locating tools to do the job.

I replaced them with those LED bulbs which look a bit like the BT tower. They have 5 yellow spots on them. I believe these are the canbus fault free ones. Im going to order some more to replace the door card interior bulbs.

Does anyone know what type of bulb is located in the roof lining interior light? Previous hondas ive owned have been the festoon type. I may replace this with an LED version also.

Thanks for your help guys.

hi

seems a pain to change the side lights, even on a petrol I just cant manage to reach the side light bulb holders, off with the arches it is then (when
I'm brave enough)

the bulbs in the roof are 31mm festoon bulbs as changed mine this week

The side light bulbs are supposed to be changed via the wheel arch, it even shows you in the handbook.

I've just done this; replaced with LEDs.

The plastic rivets are a bit tricky; used 2x flat bladed precision screwdrivers to gently prise out the middle part one notch. The rivet then just pulls free of the trim.

Took about 10 mins altogether :)
