Really straight forward job this.
Using a cross point screwdriver or an 8mm socket on an extension loosen the 6 captive screws retaining the air box lid. The top can be lifted enough to remove the filter element without removing the ducting or air flow meter wiring.
With the filter removed, decide if it warrants replacement. Looking at the state of it, I think may have been in since the factory :-(
Check inside the box and fish out any dead leaves or spiders webs that have accumulated, then fit the element back in position. Note that the filter only fits one way round.
Finally screw the lid back on, tightening the screws to 3Nm. Job done.
