Tyre sizing on CL7 Euro R

Hi all,

The standard size for the Honda Accord CL7 Euro R is 215/45/17.

Most of the cars seem to come with 225. (Does any one have experience with putting on the original size).. 225 will be better in many ways, but I just wonder if the gear ratios will be better with the factory size tyre?

I need to buy new tyres in the next week or 2.

I always wondered of the difference between the Euro R and the Type S tyre sizing, but never got a definitive answer. The width of the tyre will not have an effect on gear ratios, though the wider tyre may contribute to more tramlining effects, so an alignment would be recommended after fitting.

Are you currently running 225's? If so please let us know if there's any differences if you decide to switch back to the 215's?

We've gone for 225/35/19 on ours feels fine
