Ok, so this morning I've been a busy little bunny, I removed the airbox resonator and fitted my pipercross panel filter, easy enough if a little time consuming due to things being held in place, even with bolts removed, but meh.

Anyway, it's maiden voyage was taken, the acceleration is improved now and vtec sounds awesome (for the 1.8 anyway). My question is:

Under acceleration there is a loud whistling noise, kind of like someone blowing over an open bottle sound, that gets very loud once vtec kicks in. Is this normal after the above mentioned mods?

Many thanks

Are you sure you have a good seal on your new filter ?
If so it might be just the extra air flow created by the new filter

Yeah, I checked and double checked the seal around the filter, it's as good and sealed as it can be. It must be as you said the extra flow, it just seems really loud. Louder than when I had an induction kit on my prelude way back when.

Best bett is get someone to rev the engine with you under bonnet to double check

The typhoon on my ATR whistles. Kinda sounds like a mini turbo spooling lol.

I wouldn't worry mate. Check that everything lines up and is tight and there's no play.

You've got to take the front bumper off mate. Very easy.

3 screws on the top and 2 in each arch iirc. When replacing, remember it'll b so much easier with a friend :)
