Hi all,

The other week the light for the odometer went and thinking it was just the bulb I got some replacements and some LED's to put in for the dials while I was in there.

I tried 3 or 4 bulbs and touching the legs of an LED across the contacts and don't seem to be getting any power to that socket. I've not had a multimeter out on it yet as I've put it somewhere safe and can't find it. Everything else on the instrument cluster is working fine so it's not a major problem but it's bugging me.

Is this a common problem or is there something else I should be checking to get this working?

If all else fails I may try sourcing another unit in the future. Would it just be a straight swap without having to worry about the mileage and what not? I ***ume that the mileage is stored elsewhere and just sent to the display rather than stored on it.

While I'm on the subject of duff bulbs.
Some of the tiny ones in the cruise, fog, and hazard switches seem to have packed in as well. They look very tiny and would probably come complete with the holders. Is it possible to get these from anywhere or would it be better to mod them with some suitable LED's?

Hav eyou checked to see if any fuses have gone bust? Seems a bit odd that a load of bulbs have blown at the same time.

It's just the bulb for the odometer that's gone. The rest of the instrument cluster is working fine.

I'm not familiar with those tiny bulbs in the Accord, but if they're similar to another make of car, IIRC they do come with the holders.

They should just be T3 bulbs, but I would just buy them from Holdcroft Honda, they are around £2-3 and guaranteed to fit and work.

Thanks Exec,
I found them on Lings for the princely sum of £7-8 each hah. Now I know what type I'll work out what colours I need one day and sort those out.

Phone up Holdcroft and get the discount, I paid £3 for the clock and climate bulbs.

Chances are I'll replace them with coloured LED's when I get round to it.

I'm still stumped as to why the bulb for the odometer isn't working. Definitely a case of no power going to the socket for some reason. Wouldn't have thought there'd be any sort of fusible link just for that and can't hear anything loose inside that'd cause a short. Not the end of the world but annoying all the same :)
