The Premium Sound of 7th gen was marvelous (at least to my taste). The Premium Sound of 8th gen seems worse in every possible aspect - and my 7th saloon didn't even have a subwoofer. First thing I did after I bought the tourer was to do soundproofing of the doors and rear fenders. Then I saw what ***** the Matsu****a speakers are. They are thin, plastic, low quality oem speakers that probably worth few GBP each. They were already starting to peel off and were making terrible noise so I changed them with the same speakers from an accident car as a temp solution.

So, it seems the whole audio system is 2-ohm. I'm not interested in changing the amplifier, it will get costly and I don't need nothing more than a decent sound system. As a start I'm thinking to change the door speakers. I have a guy that will make custom fitings for aftermarket speakers. But I can't seem to be able to find 2-ohm 6.5" speakers... Most aftermarket are 4-ohm, there are few 2-ohm that are very big, expensive, powerful and won't fit.

I'm also considering to change the sub speaker. Any ideas for regular car speakers with 2-ohm impedance? Also has anyone else changed the speakers?

If you want decent sound then you will need a decent set up components in the front door. I've just recently fitted these JL Audio C3-650, in the front doors. Door card needed abit of diy to make them fit but worth every penny. These are powered by a 2ch pioneer stereo amp.
Ive also added a 12in 1400wat pionner sub which is power bu a 4ch 900w pionner amp.

I will be leave the rear door speakers standard and replacinf the shelf speaks with set of components aswell. Not has high end as the JL audio ones.

The oem sub is still wired up and working that will remain standard aswell. As trying to find a decent free to air sub thay performance well is hard and costly.
