This car never had any form of machine polishing.

It could have done with it though - even after 4 months, and only under the lighting that I have in my studio or in direct sunlight, you could see evidence of light wash marring and swirls.

A lot of people will use a machine polisher without going through all of the steps and that's fine, but small traces of dirt, tar and iron contaminants can cause further damage to the paint.

1. How do you remove iron?

2. So did you wax the fk2
1. Fallout remover

2. Of course :) I use the pictures that I post to facebook, it would take me all day to post the comments as well.
All paintwork wax'd as well as door shuts and boot shuts. Wheels sealed and tyres dressed. Interior plastics cleaned and tyres dressed with Long Life Tyre Gel.

Absolutely flawless work. So wish you was closer as you would be doing mine also.

Can I ask what is the best product to use on newly powder coated alloy

You need to get them sealed using a Nano Sealant or a Wheel Wax to keep them looking new and protect them from all of the dirt, grime and brake dust.

I like FK100P :

After that, you should just wash them with regular car shampoo and that will keep them looking like new.

I've got some poor boys wheel sealant and will do it next weekend hopefully. Need to take the wheels off and then give them a good clean and seal.

In terms of sealants on the body work what do you recommend?

I didnt know there was such a thing as iron remover when detailing,i will get some for next time

Do you use the clay bar to remove tar?
You should use a tar remover and not reply on the clay bar to do it as this will just cause marring.

This is why you leave clay barring to the end so that it only picks up the vary smallest traces of contaminants and not damage the paint.

Hi

What is the advantage of doing tar and iron removal before the 2 bucket wash as most of the instructions on these products say to wash the car thoroughly first?
