2010 2.2 idtec type s custom dual exhaust

Good afternoon all.

Just done a small step forward in my modyfifing project. Today I decided to remove an old one pipe exhaust system and replace it with a custom cat back dual oval system. Definitely better visual effects. Need better flow after the remap done by Fahad.

Its been cut after the cat and before a central silencer around the holder. Side cover been easily removed.

Didn't notice any difference in power.Also the sound from the back is not very noticable when sitting inside. Should the torque drop after the replacement?

I'd just heard diesels need back pressure or something so I just presumed adding a cone filter or exhaust could result in torque loss. I've had no experience with it so I thought I'd ask. It's good to know it hasn't effected the power. The car certainly looks better with the twin pipes.
 
They do need back pressure but depends on how much of the existing system you've retained.
 
Those tips are a lot better than mine, they look far better quality. Makes a big visual difference to the car.



I had my 7th gen done by Zorstec so went there again for this car but they only had these tips in the garage! For a custom exhaust facility I thought that was quite poor.

Mine looks the same underneath but this time it was built by the young lad not the owner so in my view wasn't as good.

I should have more questions before just leaving it and expecting the same quality as last time.

I was thinking of changing mine but up to new owner now.
 
Magic - i've just realised who you are.. I couldn't recognise the car as we did this one at night.

I recall i was the third tuner to work on this before it was finally right. Hopefully all good now?

Yes. That's the one. Watford night test ride :) Since when you touch it, everything works perfectly. Unfortunately Quantum Tuning and other "recommended" garage couldn't make it properly before. Thanks Fahad.
