8th gen headlight needs a thump

I wondered if anyone on the forum has had an issue with these headlights in terms of them requiring a thump on the wing above the light to bring it to life. It then stays on whilst in use until the next time you need to use it, mine is a 2012 model.

Its on the battery side (nearside) of the vehicle.

I did change the battery recently but I cannot see how this could have affected the light as the connecting plug is well out of the way of the battery tray and leads?

Any thoughts welcome, it works its just needs a thump.

Have you got normal halogen or Hids on your car.
