Hello guys I have idtec 2009. Engine fault just lights up. Maybe someone knows how to check tje fault code because i dont..
Or at least somebody knows good electrician around birmingham? Because airbag is on aswell. Nightmare:)
Sorry for silly questions just bought accord and dont know anything about it

Not around Birmingham. But you can book in with me, I'm often up and down the uk.

Drop me a line for details

Did you buy the car with the engine fault and abs light on?
If yes what did the seller say about it?

You will need an OBD2 handheld diagnostic reader to read the fault code - they are quite cheap to buy.
However with the airbag fault you will need a dedicated reader (snap on or HDS (Honda diagnostic system to read the code for this

Give fahad a bell, he will read both codes and tell you whats wrong :)

No i bought it was all good. Engine light turn on just sometimes, airbag almost every time i start the engine.
Can you recommend any OBD2 reader?

Cheapest way people do this is to buy a bluetooth dongle which fits into the OBD2 port
Connect to your phone and download the torque app which is known to be pretty good. It can scan live data apparently from the reviews i have read.

Failing that you can get a pretty basic reader, maxiscan MS309
It can read live data but can scan basic OBD2 codes

If you want to get a reader to hold on too perhaps, I manage to get a foxwell NT630 for really cheap from my garage friend as he upgraded (they are quite pricey to buy new though)
But can scan airbag, OBD2 codes and read the VSA system on the Accord and has live data and even test the ABS solenoid system and sensors etc.
I have used it on my Accord and scanned a 16-1 ABS code and scanned a friends pre face lift 2004 ictdi Accord and detected the infamous 66-1 code on his car (he wasnt happy - lol).
Nice bit of kit.
Example shown here

Hope this helps
