I posted this in another older thread but so far no response...probably just not been seen due to being added on to the older thread!

I have managed to remove the screws inside the handle recess (the one to open the door), the one just in front of that that was a bit more hidden to me, and also the one in the other recess where you need to lift the rubber cutout. Hope that makes sense. So in all I have removed four screws and have popped the door card off as much as I can but it still seems to be screwed in somewhere that I cannot see.

Can anyone shed any light on the last screw so I can completely take it off?

I managed to get the speaker out with it like this but would love to have it all the way off to put the new ones on!

The simple reason I want to change them is that since I have had the car I have noticed quite bad distortion especially when using the phone and listening to the radio when people are speaking. On removing the speaker you can see that the outer edge where it was once glued down has come away and there is also a crack in the cone.....the crack may have happened when I removed it but not sure. For a "Premium" sound system they are terrible but mine is a 2009 and I read elsewhere on here that honda upgraded them after this.

Can't help I'm afraid, but if you manage it take some photos and post the method. Something's rattling in mine but I'm too scared to investigate...

Please include the info here if you do get the door card off. I too have something rattling in the passenger door. Only noticeable when im braking and going to a stop whilst driving at lower speeds, Its like a metal on metal sound, and i think its coming from the door.
Matt, is this similar to what your hearing with your car?

Thanks 8thgenfan! This is the last screw that I need out! Will have a go at this tomorrow or the weekend.

My new speakers are here along with the wiring that I ordered so no soldering required...just waiting on the adapters now so can fit the speaker to the door!

Matt and accord1108, the way I went about things was to first of all remove the sail panel which houses the tweeter. This simply pops off and pulls up the way. Unplug the power cable and put in a safe place. I find the footwell best at this Pont and best to have the window down too. You then have to remove the screws which are behind the handle to open the door and just in front of that and in the handle under the small piece of rubber in the lower handle. I now know there is a final screw under the window switch thanks to above post. So gently pry this up and unplug power and remove this screw as weel. The next stages are to disconnect the cables connecting the lever to open the door. Not having done this part yet I believe you have to release the cable from its catch and then the door card should be free. It's not a hard thing to do. You just need to be gentle but at the same time not be afraid when you hear the pop that you're breaking something.

Hope this helps!

Mine is about two thirds up in the drivers door. Applying pressure stops it, but it's difficult to drive like that. Imagine dropping one of those little wooden Ikea pencils onto a hard floor -that's your noise.

Just a quick update for those that are interested....finally fitted the speakers today as it took ages for the adapters to arrive to fix to the door!

What a difference the new speakers make! No distortion of any kind and phone calls are much clearer! On removing the second speaker this had also failed and parts that were once glued down no longer were. On the downside I now notice how bad the rear door speakers are so these will be getting changed shortly! Any other tourer owners changed the small boot speakers? Haven't looked at it yet but hopefully quite simple. Don't think I'll bother with the sub as it's always seemed quite decent.

Thanks, as you say that, a good description, mine is in the passenger side, i must have a look sometime, as other than this there are no rattles.

Did you investigate the rattle in your door?

Just found this link in the comments of that video, there are three pdfs, in post #18, one of which outlines the rear door card removal

Obviously quite difficult to say what is causing your noise but there are several wires and anchoring clips throughout the door as I am sure you are aware. Hopefully one of these has simply come loose and is easy to spot!

I myself now have a new problem that causes the speakers to cut out intermittently and take the tweeters with them! Guessing it's a wire making contact with the body of the car but can't see where! Very annoying indeed!
