TYPE S Tourer
Hi guys hows it going not been on for a while my Type S tourer has been gong well with no problems. Well only a small one ive noticed the the near side rear tyre is very worn on the inner edge ive done a search on this but not come up with any thing. I do seem to remember a fault on some of theses Accords where one of the rear arms was made incorrectly?. Anyone else had this problem and solve it?.

cheers Alun

Mine chews the insides off rear tyres regularly
(Got about 20k from a pair of T1R's). I just have them flipped on the rims to even out the wear.

Think as they age, the cumulative wear in all the joints creates a significant amount of camber, lower it as well, and I've ended up with nearly 3 degrees of negative each side.

I could fit new bushes and joints throughout, or I could just live with it (which works out cheaper in the long run for my situation as I now run midrange tyres which I get really cheap, and have a friend who's a tyre fitter)

Well the thing is i can't find any worn bushes or joints it has less than 100k on the clock my diesel accord tourer had way more miles on the clock and it never had tyre ware problems it just seems ware the n/s/r tyre very fast on the inner edge. I may see if i can get the rear tracking and camber checked see if it turns anything up.

Run it down to a tyre shop with hunter alignment system and get it looked at

Did it tow in a past life?

Most likely worn camber arm/adjuster, get an alignment done, they can check for the arm condition and advice if they need replacing.

I can't post links with IE, but if you go to Ling Honda Parts website and look at the rear suspension setup you will see that there's camber adjusting bolts and washers.

I don't ever recall hearing of parts being made incorrectly for the tourer but I could be wrong.

Hi
Be interested to know what you find out on this. Not long after I got my accord I noticed a similar thing that the very inner edge of rear (near side I think it was) was considerably more worn than the rest.
I had a look around and all bushes etc seemed OK so wasn't really sure. Never really know how previous owner had used or whether they run tyre pressures correctly or if it's something that had recently been fixed etc etc
